Amazon rivers dolphins are found throughout the major river systems of South America.
The dolphin can vary in colour from grey to pink and are known locally as "botos". Like the other river dolphin species that are found in Asia, Amazon river dolphins are under threat from human activities in the places where they live.
WDC has funded vital river dolphin conservation, research and eduction work in the region for over 25 years.
