Philanthropy and Major Gifts

Making a significant gift to Whale and Dolphin Conservation will offer you the opportunity to join us on a special and rewarding journey. We will provide you with an insight into the lives of whales and dolphins and the latest initiatives we are working on to protect them.

Your philanthropic donation will allow you to have a real impact on the protection of these inspiring creatures, and the habitats they rely on, not just for now, but for future generations.

At WDC we are incredibly grateful for gifts of any size. We define a gift of £5,000 and above as philanthropic.

Whales and dolphins are incredible and intelligent creatures that play a crucial role in the health of the ocean and the planet as a whole. However, there are many challenges and uncertainties that whales and dolphins face and we need you to help fight these to create a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free. We need your support now more than ever.

Income from fundraising is essential for delivering vital fieldwork, citizen science and research projects, community and education projects, campaigns and advocacy, and intergovernmental and political engagement.

Our projects help to achieve our workstream goals and underpin our strategy to not just reverse the global decline in whale and dolphin populations, but to see them flourish. We will do this by:

Stopping cruelty from deliberate harms such as whaling and captivity.

Creating safe seas, free from accidental entanglement in fishing gear, the threat of pollution and collisions with vessels.

Winning recognition of whales and dolphins as sentient, socially complex beings, and our allies in the fight against the climate and nature breakdown.
