We know that whales are vital in our fight to solve the climate crisis: they accumulate vast amounts of carbon in their bodies throughout their lives and, when they die, it goes with them to the bottom of the ocean.  Not to mention whale poo fertilising phytoplankton to produce oxygen, and the "whale pump" moving nutrients around the oceans as whales feed and migrate.

Classic events

Completing 3 iconic challenges in 1 year saw orca-lover Stanley inducted into the London Classics Hall of Fame.

Stanley ran the London Marathon, completed the London-Surrey 100 mile cycle ride and finally swam the 2-mile distance at Swim Serpentine but you can run, cycle or swim any distance to raise funds for WDC.

Gaz Hughes was shocked to read that as many as a million marine mammals and a million birds die annually as a result of plastic pollution. Determined to help, Gaz attempted to cover 1 million metres (621.37 miles) by completing 19 events in 2019.

Every single fundraising event will help WDC to create clean, healthy seas!

Skydiving for dolphins, parachuting for porpoises

Jumping out of a plane isn't for the faint-hearted but Claire Dayment (pictured), Kenzie Grant and Kasey Hazel did just that and had a whale of a time. If you'd like to take on a Skydive to help whales and dolphins, get in touch!

Registration is now open for the 2020 Kiltwalks

For every £1 you raise in sponsorship money, The Hunter Foundation will generously donate an additional 40p - just as they did for the Barnett Family (left) who donned kilts and sporrans and walked for whales in 2019.  The 2020 dates and venues are:

Glasgow:  26th April 2020                   Aberdeen: 7th June 2020

Dundee:     16th August 2020               Edinburgh: 13th September 2020
