Discover dolphins

The dolphins are back!

Following the hugely successful 2014 Wild Dolphins sculpture trail in Aberdeen we are delighted to be working with Wild in Art again to bring Discover Dolphins to Southampton.

For 8 weeks during the summer of 2021 a pod of colourful, life-size bottlenose dolphin sculptures will form a free, open-air art trail across the city’s streets, parks and neighbourhoods bringing excitement and enjoyment to thousands of local residents and visitors alike.

The main sculpture trail of ca. 30 sculptures will be complemented by a pod of smaller dolphins painted by local schoolchildren.

Showcasing the incredible and unique talent of local artists,  each of the individually designed dolphin sculptures will be sponsored by a local business before being auctioned in Southampton to raise vital funds to support Whale and Dolphin Conservation’s work.

We are very grateful to GO! Southampton and Southampton City Council for their invaluable support of the Discover Dolphins project.

For more information, or details of how your business, school or community group can get involved, please email events@whales.org.

Get Involved

We're looking for 30 -35  businesses to sponsor a dolphin and would love to chatter (as all dolphins do!) to you about the benefits of being part of this fin-tastic event next summer.

We also need the help of talented local artists to turn our blank dolphin sculptures into stunning pieces of art and make a huge, colourful splash in Southampton.

And, as no pod would be complete without baby dolphins,  local schools and community groups can help us make an even bigger splash by decorating a baby dolphin sculpture.
