Holly was born in 1980 to Licka. Her babies Surf, Current, Cameleon, Albion and Ashlar are all named after places around British Columbia, Canada.
Holly and her family are one of the few groups of Northern Residents who visit the Johnstone Strait, near Vancouver Island, during the winter, spring and summer months. We often see her on the underwater cameras, rubbing her belly along the smooth pebbles of the local rubbing beaches. This is an age-old cultural tradition practiced only by Northern Resident orca families.
