The UK-based YouTube gaming sensations ‘Yogscast’ (who have over 7 million subscribers), supported WDC in 2016 by selecting us as one of their 6 charity partners for their ‘Jingle Jam’ fundraiser.

“Jingle Jam” is a charity event that runs throughout December and has raised over $3m in the last 4 years. During the Jingle Jam these pro gamers do live broadcasts on the livestreaming service, Twitch, every day of December for 6-9 hours a day, encouraging their fans to buy a bundle of amazing video games, with all proceeds going towards their chosen charities.

WDC were over the moon to receive a donation of $365,000 in 2016 – our largest ever single partner donation!

To celebrate, Yogscast CEO Mark Turpin and Yogscast partners, Hat Films joined WDC up in Scotland to spend time with WDC field officer, Charlie Phillips, out in the Moray Firth to try and spot some of our amazing adopt-a-dolphin stars.

In addition, WDC receive a donation equivalent to 2% of the total cost of the whale watching trips sold across Off the Map’s full range of destinations, including Norway, Greenland and Iceland, as well as Tenerife – helping to support us in our aim of a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free.
Jonny Cooper, Director of Off the Map Travel, said: “We are very proud to be the first ever UK-based travel company to fully comply with WDC's standards on responsible whale watching with every experience sold and fully adhere to WDC’s best practice guidelines. Every single one of our whale and dolphin watching holidays also now includes a donation to WDC so that the charity can continue their vital work protecting these amazing creatures from the threats they face every day”.
