WDC launches guest T-shirt range with hit Twitter account @awhalefact

WDC’s many followers and supporters  will now able to purchase a range of new, limited edition adult T-shirts just in time for Christmas following the announcement of a collaboration between WDC, our T-shirt design partners Teemill, and the team behind the hugely popular (and sometimes a little cheeky!) @awhalefact Twitter account.

@awhalefact’s irreverent account was set up in August of this year by two whale lovers, Dan and Preston, and amassed over 80k followers in a matter of days, including the team here at WDC. Our friends at online clothing store, Teemill, who design and manufacture WDC’s organic cotton range of clothing and accessories, have created new designs that include four popular ‘whale facts’, with proceeds from the sales going to help WDC’s work to help keep whales and dolphins safe and free.

The whalefact founders said: ‘Whalefact has been providing the world with whalefacts for a little over two months. The incredible kindness we have received from our followers in just a few short months is beyond anything we’ve experienced before, and we really want to thank you for that.

‘A whalefact’s goal is help the whales and to provide the world with whalefacts, and love, inspiration, weird stuff, and puns and spelling mistakes from time to time. And that’s a good thing! We want to make your lives a little brighter every day.

‘Whales are beautiful and facts are important. We live in a world where both are in danger so we hope you’ll consider buying a T-shirt.’

WDC’s partnerships manager, Abbie Cheesman, added: ‘We’ve been huge fans of the whalefact account since it started in August, both for its humour and the genuine desire of Preston and Dan to use the account to make a positive impact for whales by helping us raise vital funds to support our work, and to highlight some of the key threats facing whales and dolphins, like captivity and plastic pollution. We are so grateful for their generosity and hope that whalefact’s other fans around the world love the designs as much as we do!’

Please note, several of the designs feature language that some people may find offensive and that are unsuitable for our younger supporters, so are available in adult sizes only.
