WDC Shorewatch volunteer films humpback whales in Moray Firth
Following sightings of humpback whales off Shetland in recent weeks, there have been sightings of two of the creatures in the Moray Firth. It is believed that they may be the same two whales sighted off Aberdeen over several weeks during the autumn. It is thought the pair may be a mother and calf.
WDC Shorewatch volunteer, Steve Truluck, first saw the whales on Friday near his home in Burghead before going out to look for the whales with North 58 Sea Adventures yesterday who generously donating the takings from the trip to WDC, while other volunteers and around 1,000 members of the public watched the whales from land.
Much to their surprise the inquisitive whales surfaced alongside their boat.
