WDC supporter Adam Walker completes seven year ocean challenge

Adam Walker has just become the first Brit to complete what’s known as the Oceans 7 – the hardest seven ocean swims in the world. He took on this incredible feat to raise funds for WDC. On Wednesday 6 August, he successfully swam the North Channel, the strait which separates north-eastern Ireland from south-western Scotland and now celebrates the culmination of his seven year challenge.

On his adventures he’s been stung by a Portuguese Man of War, joined by a pod of dolphins, encountered sharks and witnessed pilot whales, and all to raise money to protect whales and dolphins.

Adam said, ‘I am ecstatic to finish seven out of seven swims on the first attempt and I would like to thank everyone for all the support I have had over the past seven years to make this dream a reality. Without this, completing the challenge would not have been possible’.

You can support Adam’s amazing achievement on his JustGiving page.

Watch Adam being interviewed on the BBC.
