WDC increases pressure on Indian government for captivity ban

WDC is eagerly awaiting an imminent decision by the Indian government regarding a potential ban on dolphin captivity in the country.

We have been involved in a campaign to try to get legislation banning captivity in India for several years now and this week WDC increased its pressure on the Indian authorities by sending the government a letter (backed by 60 scientists) calling for a ban on dolphinaria and dolphin imports.

A final announcement from the Minister concerned is expected in the next two weeks.
