WDC’s team attending an international wildlife protection meeting in Thailand have been invited by local Thai whale whatching operators to conduct a whale watching workshop to further improve standards and ensure the protection of whales in the region.

The workshop took place in BangTaboon district, Petchburi Province, on Sunday 10th March and was conducted by Vanesa Tossenberger, WDC Latin American director. She stated that, “WDC always encourages responsible whale watching activities. We were therefore delighted to assist Mr Pinsak Wuraswadi, director of the Marine and Coastal Resources Research and Development Institute of Thailand, with training that will help the local community to be able to offer high standards of security for both tourist, operators and whales.”
