Rare Sei Whale Found On Scottish Coastline

A rare Sei whale has stranded along the Angus coast south of Arbroath, Scotland following recent reports of a large whale in trouble close inshore at St Andrew’s. A post-mortem examination will be carried out on the dead animal which may have been hit by a boat.

 

Although they can been seen in Scottish waters they are typically a deep water species and have only been seen a handful of times in the past in the region.
