WDCS is very sad to learn of the recent death of the leading marine conservationist, Dr Mandy McMath.

Dr McMath worked for the Countryside Council for Wales and her special interest was marine mammals. She led innovative marine conservation work on the Welsh coastline for many years and was a good friend to WDCS and our work in this region. Her legacy includes many reports and papers on marine mammals and marine conservation and many marine conservation designations and other initiatives.

Mandy was an inspiration to many working in this field. Read a personal view from WDCS’s Director of Science.

WDCS extends our condolences to her family and friends.
