Orca Rescue In New Zealand

orcaA young female orca was rescued by a diver yesterday after she became caught up in fishing line off the coast of New Zealand.

There were five or six other orcas nearby calling to her, and marks on the trapped whale’s skin suggest that they had been trying to get the rope off her.

She had probably been there a little while but luckily diver, Rhys Cochrane, was able to cut the rope from her and set her free. And he was able to take some film during the rescue.
