Wild Dolphins 2014

Monday 23 June 2014
In partnership with the ARCHIE Foundation we are running a spectacular art event in Aberdeen in the summer of 2014. Around 50 dolphins will be leaping of the streets of the city and provide a colourful reminder of the real wild dolphins living right on the doorstep.

Led by the ARCHIE Foundation and Whale and Dolphin Conservation, Wild Dolphins is a public art exhibition in the city of Aberdeen launched on June 23rd. Giant fibreglass sculptures of dolphins are ‘leaping off’ the streets of Aberdeen and the surrounding area.

Each sculpture will be individually designed and painted by invited local artists, creating a trail of unique pieces of art. At the end of the 10 week public art exhibition, the sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for children at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and to protect the local dolphins.

The trail is a fun and free event that everyone can enjoy. Trail maps will be available to guide the public, and we will encourage the whole community to go searching for their new urban dolphins.

You can also visit the Wild Dolphins on its own website wilddolphins.org.uk or follow Wild Dolphins on TwitterFacebook and Instagram.

We are very excited to bring this event to Aberdeen. Wild Dolphins is a great opportunity for businesses, schools, residents and visitors of Aberdeen to take part in a unique project over the whole summer of 2014.
