Rain, Rain, Come Again...

We have had a very dry spell of weather up here in the Moray Firth area of Scotland for a long time and at long last there has been some heavy rain to raise the river levels a little and this means that the migratory salmon will start running in from the sea again after a week or two of little activity. It's amazing just how complicated and interconnected things like dolphins (like WDC Adopt a Dolphin star Kesslet in the photo below intercepting a salmon) migratory salmon, rain and tides can be and it is a constant learning process as to realising just how complicated and fragile the whole ecosystem can be and how we must look after it.
